National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi invites application for the post of MIS, Research and Documentation Officer, District Coordinator, Program Manager (on contract), and Young Lawyers (Legal Fellows) under Project Azim Premji Foundation (APF) – Legal Aid for Undertrial Prisoners on contractual basis.

Essential Qualification and Experience

MIS, Research and Documentation Officer

• Master’s degree in Law, Public Policy, Sociology or Social Sciences, Data Analytics, or a related field.

• Additional certification or training in research methodologies, data management, or legal documentation is preferred.

• 2–3 years of experience in research, documentation, data analysis, or MIS management. Prior work in legal aid, justice-sector projects, human rights research, or policy analysis.

• Experience coordinating reporting frameworks for donor-funded initiatives.

• Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.

• Strong proficiency in MIS tools, data visualization, and evidence-based impact assessment.

• Ability to compile case studies, policy briefs, and legal documentation.

• Excellent writing skills in English.

• Excellent technical writing and stakeholder engagement abilities.

• Familiarity with criminal justice frameworks, bail procedures, and prisoner rights.

• Strong understanding of grant compliance, reporting requirements, and donor engagement.

• Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams, including lawyers, social workers, and government officials.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in documentation.

• Familiarity with government schemes, justice-sector reforms, and prisoner welfare programs.

District Coordinator

• Bachelor /Master’s degree in Law, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or Management.

• Additional certification in legal aid, social justice, or community engagement is a plus.

• 2-3 years of experience in justice-sector projects, legal aid, or social advocacy.

• Prior work with undertrial prisoners, marginalized communities, or legal awareness programs. – Ability to coordinate multi-stakeholder interventions, including legal aid networks.

• Strong community mobilization, legal documentation, and policy engagement skills.

• Experience working with government agencies, judiciary, and donor-funded projects.

• Excellent policy analysis, strategic planning, and advocacy skills.

• Proficiency in MIS monitoring, impact assessment, and structured reporting.

• Excellent writing skills in English.

• Ability to build institutional partnerships for resource mobilization and program expansion.

• Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and leadership capabilities.

Program Manager (on contract)

• Bachelor /Master’s degree in Law, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or Management.

• Additional certification in project management, policy advocacy, or legal aid administration is preferred.

• 3-5 years of experience in program management, justice-sector projects, or legal aid initiatives.

• Strong expertise in legal aid frameworks, bail processes, and prisoner rights.

• Experience working with government agencies, judiciary, and donor-funded projects.

• Excellent policy analysis, strategic planning, and advocacy skills.

• Proficiency in MIS monitoring, impact assessment, and structured reporting.

• Excellent writing skills in English.

• Ability to build institutional partnerships for resource mobilization and program expansion.

• Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and leadership capabilities.

• This position requires strategic vision, operational efficiency, and legal sector expertise.

Young Lawyers (Legal Fellows)

• Bachelor /master’s degree in law from a recognized university.

• Bar Council of Jharkhand registration for legal practice.

• Ability to read, write, and speak Hindi and English (knowledge of local tribal languages is an advantage).

• Familiarity with MS Office, emails, and internet-based legal research.

• Strong case documentation, reporting, and trial preparation skills.

• 3-5 years of legal practice (preference given to candidates with experience in litigation, criminal defense, or legal aid).

• Capability to work independently and in teams, particularly in justice-sector interventions.

• Experience handling cases related to undertrial prisoners, marginalized communities, or social justice advocacy is desirable.

• Young Lawyers shall not take up additional employment during the contract period without prior approval.

• Excellent writing skills in English.
