Gujarat Legal Authority Starts Helpline for Victims of Air India Plane Crash | 24x7 Support & Rs 1 Crore Compensation

GUJARAT: After the tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, the Gujarat State Legal Services Authority (GSLSA) has started a 24×7 helpline to support the victims and their families.

This helpline is especially made to give legal help, provide documents, and help connect with government or airline agencies for any kind of assistance.

As per the official press release, the GSLSA said the helpline is open for people who need support in getting passenger information, legal services, and official certificates.

“In order to assist the victims and the families of deceased victims of Ahmedabad Plane crash incidence, under the guidance of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Suryakant, Judge Supreme Court of India and Executive Chairman, NALSA, Gujarat State Legal Service Authority under the stewardship of Hon’ble the Chief Justice, Mrs. Justice Sunita Agarwal and Hon’ble Mr Justice A. Y. Kogje has proposed 24 hours helpline (079-25512033 & 6357981043) in coordination with Ahmedabad City Civil Legal Service committee,”

-the authority said in the statement.

The legal services authority also informed that a helpdesk will be set up at the Legal Services Clinic at Shahibaug, Dafnala.

At this desk, people can get proper guidance on how to contact different authorities and claim required services.

This urgent legal support comes after the shocking crash of Air India flight AI 171. The aircraft, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, was flying from Ahmedabad to London and crashed shortly after takeoff on June 12, killing 241 people onboard.

This included 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, one Canadian national, and seven Portuguese nationals.

To support the families, the Tata Group, which owns Air India, has declared a major financial aid package. It said it will give Rs 1 crore to the family of each person who died in the incident.

It also announced that the company will take care of the medical treatment expenses of all those injured in the crash.
