Kerala High Court Issues Notice To BJP Leader PC George On State’s Plea To Cancel His Anticipatory Bail In 2022 Hate Speech Case

The Kerala authorities has approached the Excessive Court docket looking for cancellation of anticipatory bail granted to BJP chief PC George in a 2022 hate-speech case over alleged statements towards Muslims.

Sections 153A [Promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion, etc.] and 295A [Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class] of the Indian Penal Code have been invoked towards George within the 2022 FIR.
The 2025 FIR is lodged at Erattupettah Police Station below corresponding provisions of BNS— Part 196(1)(a) and Part 299, and below Part 12(O) of the Kerala Police Act.
