About the Journal

The Forces Law Review is the result of an international collaboration between the National Institute of Military Justice (NIMJ), Washington D.C., and the Centre for Constitution & Public Policy (CCPP), University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University. It aims to bridge academic and policy discourse on matters related to the armed forces, paramilitary, police, and other uniformed services. The Browser/ Simon and Schuster is the official distributor of the same.

Editorial Board

The editorial board includes stalwarts such as Professor Franklin Rosenblatt (President, NIMJ), Professor Shruti Bedi (Director, UILS), and Major Navdeep Singh, Advocate at the Punjab & Haryana High Court. The Advisory Board features eminent jurists and academics from around the globe, including Justice Rajiv Narain Raina, Senior Advocate Sanjeev Sharma, Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati and others from India. The student editors from India are Arjun Sagar, Kritka Garg, and Swastik Singh along with two Student editors Agastya Shukla and Naaz Bagga. The student editors from the USA are Anna Beckkett, Gabriel May and Zachary Taylor.

The inaugural volume contains

  • Landmark case briefs from constitutional and appellate courts globally,
  • Summaries of recent legal developments affecting uniformed services, and
  • Insightful opinion pieces by leading voices in military and constitutional law.
    It also includes goodwill messages from Justice Augustine George Masih (Supreme Court of India), Justice Rajendra Menon (Chairperson, Armed Forces Tribunal), Justice Alan Large (UK Military Judiciary), and PU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig.
