During the hearing in the RSS leader Srinivasan murder case, the NIA told the Kochi court that the banned outfit PFI had prepared a hit list of 977 people, including a former Kerala District Judge.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) informed a special court in Kochi, Kerala, that they discovered several “hit lists” maintained by the now-banned Popular Front of India (PFI), which included the names of approximately 977 individuals, among them a former District Judge.
According to the NIA’s statement, the PFI had a specialized ‘Reporters Wing,’ a quasi-intelligence unit responsible for gathering personal and private information about individuals from various communities, particularly targeting the Hindu community.
This information included names, ages, photographs, positions held, and even daily activities.
The NIA indicated that this data was compiled at the district level and relayed to the state hierarchy of the PFI, ensuring it was regularly updated for potential targeting by the group’s operatives.
The agency claimed that the PFI operated three clandestine divisions: the Reporters Wing, the Physical and Arms Training Wing (PE), and the Service Wing, also referred to as ‘Hit Teams.’

Documents also indicated that the Periyar Valley Campus, which has been seized by the NIA, allegedly served as an arms training centre for the banned organization.
This information was disclosed while the NIA opposed the bail applications of Muhammad Bilal and Riyasudheen, who are accused in the murder case of RSS leader Srinivasan in 2022.
Srinivasan was killed on April 16, 2022, at his motorbike shop in Palakkad. The NIA asserts that his murder was part of a larger conspiracy orchestrated by the PFI to execute acts of terror in pursuit of its extremist agenda.

The killing was reportedly in retaliation for the murder of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) activist Subair, who had been attacked a day earlier, on April 15, by individuals believed to be associated with the RSS. Subair was returning from a mosque around 1:30 AM when a car struck his vehicle from behind.
The occupants exited the car and allegedly murdered him.
